All over the world, the construction and operation of water infrastructure presents numerous challenges for water supply and sanitation utilities. Therefore, qualified expertise and in-depth knowledge is required for sustainable solutions. Our specialists at CONSULAQUA and HAMBURG WASSER who are engaging in international projects combine consultancy know-how with many years of utility experience, providing services for successful planning and implementation (short movie on HAMBURG WASSER key expertise - German language).

CONSULAQUA is dedicated to share it's utility knowledge with utility colleagues worldwide. As operating partner or in collaboration with other companies, employees of CONSULAQUA are particularly active in the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as India, the CARICOM region and South-East Europe. They work closely together with engineers, management personnel, technicians and supervisors from HAMBURG WASSER – the same professionals, whose daily work is to operate, repair and manage plants and networks. Our clients benefit from these operational experts and their long-standing practical experience. In close collaboration with our clients, we develop new strategies and tailor-made solutions. This report broadcasted by Deutsche Welle in 2015 presents an overview of our work.

Most of our projects are implemented in the frame of German development cooperation initiatives and are e.g. financed through the German Association for International Cooperation (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ) and the KfW development bank (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau). Furthermore, we engage in programmes and projects internationally tendered by the World Bank, the European Investment Bank and regional development banks. In order to complement our portfolio and for selected projects, we seek for collaborations with other representatives from the international consulting sector.

We offer a vast variety of services, ranging from water resources management, water supply and wastewater management to operations of treatment plants and distribution / collection infrastructure assets. Further, we provide expert customer service and coordinate every stage of both international and national projects.

Water supply and wastewater

Minimizing the use of chemical additives and lowering operating costs at treatment facilities
Introduction of quality management systems for water quality and laboratories
Commissioning and operation of treatment plants
